    The short version: Playday collects only what it needs to help you find great places for your kids. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.
  

1. Who We Are

Playday is operated by Bree Myatt (ABN pending), based in Queensland, Australia. We build tools to help parents discover kid-friendly venues, activities, and events near them.

2. What Information We Collect

When you create an account:

Email address
Password (stored encrypted — we never see it in plain text)
Display name (optional)

When you use the app:

Favourite suburbs you choose
Your children's ages (if you add them) — used only to filter age-appropriate results
Venues and events you save
Day plans you create
Venues you suggest via "Suggest a Venue"

Automatically collected:

Device type and operating system (for crash reporting)
App usage patterns (e.g., which tabs you visit) — anonymised
Location — only if you grant permission, only used to show nearby venues, never stored or transmitted

3. How We Use Your Information

To show you relevant venues and events near your chosen suburbs
To save your day plans and favourites across devices
To filter results by your children's ages
To send you occasional app updates or new feature announcements (you can unsubscribe any time)
To improve the app based on how people use it

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sell it to third parties — ever.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, which operates on AWS infrastructure in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) region. Your data stays in Australia.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:

Service providers: Infrastructure providers (Supabase, Expo/EAS) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements
Legal requirements: If required by Australian law or a valid court order
Business transfer: If Playday is acquired, your data would transfer to the new owner under the same privacy protections

6. Your Rights (Australian Privacy Act 1988)

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct any inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Opt out of any marketing communications
Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

7. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. This permanently removes your account, saved venues, day plans, and all personal data from our systems within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Playday is designed for parents and caregivers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Information about your children's ages entered into the app is used only to filter results and is never shared or used for any other purpose.

9. Cookies and Tracking

The Playday mobile app does not use cookies. If you visit our website (playdayapp.com.au), we may use basic analytics to understand traffic — this does not include advertising trackers.

10. Third-Party Links

Playday links to venue websites, booking pages, and external services. Once you leave the app, their privacy policies apply. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information including encrypted storage, secure HTTPS connections, and access controls. No system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@playdayapp.com.au.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
